Bucketdad: Just wondering. Do you know if PEI means that for "baseball/softball groups up to 20 slated to return June 12th" means that league games which with 2 teams and 2 umpires means that there could be around 30 plus persons in attendance is okay? What about Tournaments? A ten team tournament with players, parents, officials could push attendance to possibly 200 or so in one location would this be okay? Thanks
Also don't forget along with the announcements from Alberta and Manitoba, Softball Newfoundland had previously issued its stance on April 20, 2020 see www.softballnl.ca See home page and scroll down to the April 20th announcement.

From my reading of what they have posted, it looks like a total group to not exceed 20 people. I would think that would make it possible to practice but likely not play games. That would I think fall under phase 4 which would be 2 to 3 weeks later. This would seem to be consistent with what has been discussed
I don't think ten team tournaments are likely this summer. If they are to be done my guess would be that you would need to run them in shifts with separation between games to clear the park.
My personal opinion is that doubleheaders between just two teams with parents spread out beyond the outfield fence will be the first type of game format we see. Not clear when we get to this point. Looks like we are at 5 or 6 days of decline in number and we've been told we need to see about 14 days of steady decline to consider phase 1.
At this point even getting 3 or 4 kids out in a park throwing a ball around would do a lot to raise everyone's spirits.
