Does anybody know more about this position? I've read the description and it basically alludes to "supporting" Softball Ontario programs. No clear, concise job duties.
"Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, supporting the following programs and initiatives ..." "... successful candidate will be involved in some or all of the following activities: ..."
The reason I am curious is that Softball Ontario has downsized their staff, and I'm wondering if the idea is to start to staff up the PWSA to replace the staff at Softball Ontario?

If you continue to read the posting, it suggests that if you have any questions you can contact the PWSA. Why not just ask them directly vs posting here and only perhaps getting half facts, rumors etc. SMH

You make a good point softballsquaker.
But couldn't that point be applied to every question on this forum? Barrie Bash questions, just call Sean. Brampton question, just call John. I guess that would make this more of a bulletin board more than a forum. Post whatever you like, but no questions please.
To the intent of my question, if the PWSA is going to spend $30-$50,000 per year on a full time employee, that will undoubtedly have a financial repercussion on the teams, unless the money is being allocated from Softball Ontario. The SO Executive Director resigned a few months ago, and she has not been replaced. The SO Board has announced it is restructuring. Now the PWSA is hiring employees to support and operate the Umpires, Coaching, and various other programs. Obviously I am not interested in this position, but I am interested in what this move has in the way of a power shift in the sport of softball. Is the PWSA looking to get some autonomy from the boys program? Does the PWSA understand that they are 75% or more of softball (fastpitch) in Ontario, and should have a majority voice in how the sport is governed in Ontario?
I'm not looking for any rumours or half-facts, but if anyone finds out anything, please post updates. Or if they notice a post from SO or PWSA, please share the link.

Anyone who wants more information about the position this link from the PWSA app looks pretty thorough bit.ly/2sL15nm. As for the budget question re: where is the money coming from, I’m wondering if this was addressed at the AGM last month during the Treasurer’s report. If not then it is a perfect question for the PWSA Treasurer as it is a fair concern.

I think you're questions are pretty much answering themselves. Keep thinking it through and it'll be come clearer.

ORSA has a similar posting for the same sort of role. Like someone previous commented... best source to answer these questions is the contact person referenced in the posting. I personally think this is a worthwhile investment. The small volunteer base that runs PWSA needs support, and a full time paid role should definitely help them out in this regard. I am only left to believe this will mean good things for players, coaches and administrators in Ontario.
