The DRAFT list of PWSA Quest For Gold recipient award winners has been announced. Again this is the Draft list as posted on the Softball Ontario website
On the home page of the SB Ont. website at the top right click on Programs and then click on Athlete
On the left hand side under Athlete see Quest for Gold Athlete Assistance Program.
Again as per the posted document at the moment this is a DRAFT list.

Folks design matrices to defend themselves from the obvious criticisms that come from selecting top groups from larger groups of similarly talented players. The problem with using a matrix is that it inevitably results in an overweighting of some groups.
That we have wound up with over half the list coming from a single team illustrates this challenge. We appear to have selected non-starters from the top team while overlooking the top hitter-key position players from the three-quarters of the teams who were less successful as teams.
This also seems to have bypassed almost all of the 98/99 birth year players. There can be for sure stronger years, I would say it is near certain that the difference between years is way less pronounced than this result would seem to show.

for the Quest for Gold Selection Criteria go to www.softballontario.ca
On top of home page go to programs and click on Athlete
Left hand of Athlete page click on Quest for Gold
This takes you to the PWSA webpage for Quest for Gold
Click on Selection Criteria and enjoy reading this multi page document which spells out the selection criteria.
It is my understanding that some athletes did not apply and some did not meet the selection criteria as spelled out.
It looks like an athlete has to obtain a minimum of 50 points to be eligible for Quest for Gold status
Hope this helps
