We are quite pleased with the early response to our new event the Queen of the Diamonds Tournament.
Many years Squirt was the toughest age group to fill and this year it is leading the pack...that's great.
We have added an online registration form to make it easier to register and will accept eTransfer as well as the traditional hard copy and cheque registration.
www.leaguelineup.com/miscinfo.asp?menuid=35&url=brantfordbobcats
We will be keeping most of the same features of the Early Bird event.
Game lengths will be no new inning past 1:30 for the round robins, with no drop dead time -innings that start are completed unless home team ahead.
We will keep our rain out policy the same as the Early Bird
We will do a coach's poll again once we fill the divisions to help us with rankings to make pools for the round robin as balanced as possible.
We have added an optional player roster for the older age groups. These rosters with be provided to any post secondary coaches who attend. We have reached out and are working with the OIWFA and OCAA to make this a local showcase event.

It's been a busier week for registrations with a bunch of teams coming on board this week. Room left in all divisions.
You can register online here app.roomroster.com/events/4195/registration-type/create?registration=86339
For the older players we have added a special Showcase Evaluation, we are bringing in Paramount Scouting to run a clinic for us Friday night. This is a unique opportunity to attend a Showcase event here in Ontario with the same scouting group that is at many of the larger US events.

We have had a few inquiries regarding game times for this tournament. At this point the plan is not to have games on the Friday night. We will be hosting our Showcase on Friday for the older players. We do plan to have most/all teams playing on the Monday. For teams travelling and requiring hotels we will try and give you mid morning starts on Saturday so you can minimize hotel costs. Obviously for teams with extensive travel you may need Friday accommodation but we will do our best to work with teams as best we can. One of the goals with moving to the holiday weekend was to allow us to have longer game lengths. We are planning to have minimum 1:30 games and definitely won’t have drop dead time limits.

We have good draws in all divisions for our Queen of the Diamonds Victoria Day Classic, with separate Tier 1 and 2 at both Midget and Bantam. We do have 4 of our 6 divisions at 7 teams however which isn't anyones favourite number for creating pools so would love to draw at least one more in Squirt, Bantam 1 and 2 and Midget 2. We have capacity in all divisions for at least a couple more teams.
Don't forget also that on Friday night we are hosting a Paramount Scouting Showcase with involvement from both Canadian and US schools using a scouting service with 20 plus years experience in the field. www.paramountscouting.com/

We are just 11 weeks away from kicking off the inaugural Queen of the Diamonds event.
There is just one spot remaining in each of Squirt, Bantam Tier 1, Midget Tier 1 and Tier 2. Would love to get those divisions filled and start putting together some pools and schedules. We will be conducting a coach's poll in each division to help ensure we have balanced pools and good match ups.
We have had a very good response from the colleges and universities we have been in contact with and are definitely looking forward to making this a productive Showcase for all of the older teams in attendance.
You can register here to grab one of the remaining tournament spots: app.roomroster.com/events/4195/registration-type/create?registration=86339
You can register here to participate in the Paramount Scouting Showcase: paramountscouting.com/showcases/register.php?SCID=000394 (Note you may participate in the Showcase even if your team is not in the tournament)

We are closing registration for the Queen of the Diamond tournament.
This will be our largest event yet and we want to make sure we have the available diamond space to stay away from shortened games (all round robin games minimum 1:30) and avoid controversial drop dead time limits.
We will be circulating draft schedules to coaches this week and posting final schedules hopefully by early next week.
The response has been especially strong in the older age groups and with 21 Midget and 17 bantam teams attending a great spot for showcasing many of the top high school aged players in the province.
The early bird discount ends very shortly (April 15th) for our Friday evening Showcase with Paramount Scouting. For any looking to attend the showcase you can register here: paramountscouting.com/showcases/register.php?SCID=000394
We have added an additional diamond for this event based on early registrations to date.
More info about both the Tournament and the Showcase can be found on our website at: www.leaguelineup.com/brantfordbobcats

There is no park listed for the Midget division?

Midget 1 is all at Greenlane. Unfortunately, the 4th diamond is being re-seeded and isn't available so a good chunk of the Midget 2 games are at Dufferin.....not ideal and we wish we could have had it all in one spot but fairly easy drive between the two.
There is a new four-diamond facility being built in south Brantford this summer. Hoping it is online for next spring. Two new hotels also slated to open prior to next year which will definitely help.

As Admin mentioned the park names are on the schedules (thanks to the poster who mentioned one I had missed). There is a Map on the Room Roster site that has all the locations on it. app.roomroster.com/events/4195/registration-type/create?registration=86339&nav=hidden
What is commonly referred to as Lions is technically Steve Brown Sports Complex. The Greenlane Complex is a newer location, between Brantford and Paris, we haven't used previously, it's a very nice four diamond quad- the fourth field was hardball but now being converted to softball. Jaycee we have used quite a bit before -it's in the North end. Dufferin is a nice lit single diamond behind the Dufferin lawn bowling and tennis courts.
Both Dufferin and Greenlane diamonds are not visible from the road so slightly harder to find.

We are just a day away from the start of the Queen of the Diamonds weekend. The weekend kicks off Friday night with the Paramount Scouting Showcase and continues through to Monday afternoon. paramountscouting.com/index.php
We are set up to use the RoomRoster site for score posting so those not at the event can follow results fairly easily...it is our first time using the program so hopefully, we will have minimal glitches. Here is the link to that system: app.roomroster.com/events/4195/schedule?nav=hidden
We are also encouraging teams to add the hashtag #QoD18 to their tweets from the weekend so people can also follow along that way.
Attached is the Press Release that went out this morning.
Schedules can be found on our website at www.leaguelineup.com/brantfordbobcats on the UTM Fastpitch page as well as on our RoomRoster site.

Thanks 9bc9, heavy emphasis on crew on this one. All of our coaches and managers were terrific at lining up literally dozens of parents to help out. We were very fortunate to have capable folks like Todd Bannister and Chris Meyer heavily involved, as finding five additional locations to reschedule the 81 shifted games with appropriate umpires in just a few hours meant lots of scrambling. we had great support from the City of Brantford, County of Brant and Township of Blandford Blenheim who all came to our aid to make this work.
