Curious as to what the coaches and student athletes think of the change in scheduling. I don't know how long it's been in place, but I remember about 10 years back going to the AGM and listening to arguments for extending the OIWFA season or cutting it back due to travel budgets. Obviously a hard season for the extremes, i.e. Ottawa-area universities and Windsor. Looks like cutting it back was the winner even though it made for a 4-week season in September and playoffs first week of October.
I ask partly out of interest (and nostalgia) but partly because I've been assisting with a team on the west coast coming together part time to do some US showcase tournaments, but the discussions are by no means limited to the US. Some players will wind up vying for spots in local schools in the Vancouver area (UBC, Douglas, etc) or the new UBC-Okanagan out in Kelowna, but one was asking about the OIWFA since Ontario does present many, many absolutely viable options for academics.
[edit] This probably belongs on another thread.
