Brampton is pleased to announce that Kathleen Torpey and her staff will be returning in 2018 to head up our intermediate team that will play in the Open division (tier to be decided by the coaching staff). Kathleen brings a wealth of knowledge to our organization and is a leader in our sport. She like all of us in Brampton believe that we should continue to offer a program that allows our Blazers an avenue to continue to play the game that they love at a competitive level. Kathleen asks her girls to give back to our league by hosting clinics and running joint practices with our younger teams, we hope that this in the future will open up more woman into our coaching ranks, something that is important to us moving forward.
The intermediate team will participate in around 4 tournaments plus provincials (Nationals and Eastern berths will be discussed as an entire group and will be determined by the players if they wish to attend). Typically Kathleen asks her young ladies to participate in a practice/game night (same night) once per week plus her tournament commitments. The entire year is outlined before the season starts so that her team can honor outside commitments to work & life and plan the ball season around that.
We will be hosting an open tournament again this year and hope to make it an annual staple on the schedule for many years to come, there just aren't many GTA options for open tournaments and are happy to operate one.
Kathleen will advise shortly on player availability and may host a tryout/practice if required. Kathleen can be reached via email at guykath@hotmail.com should you need any further clarification.
Thanks
